Seminar on Standards of India at Asian Business School

Noida: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the National Standard Body of India. BIS is responsible for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Asian Business School & National Chairman Media & Entertainment Committee BIS Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution.

BIS Certification is a means for providing third party guarantee of quality, safety and reliability of products to the customer. BIS Certification is voluntary in nature; however, the Government of India has made BIS certification mandatory for certain products taking into consideration public health added Sandeep Marwah.

BIS is the National Standard Body of India established under the BIS Act 2016 for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto BIS has been providing traceable and tangible benefits to the national economy in a number of ways – providing safe reliable quality goods; minimizing health hazards to consumers; promoting exports and imports substitute; control over proliferation of varieties etc. through standardization, certification and testing informed Neha Yadav Joint Director Service Sector Department SSD Bureau of Indian Standards Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution.

Dr.Lalitya Srivastava Director Asian Business School paid vote of thanks. Later Sandeep Marwah presented a memento to Neha Yadav. The event was supported by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry.
