Sandeep Marwah is the patron-in-chief of the Newspaper Association of India (NAI) which is a not-for-profit trade association. Manifest with over 6000 owners, publishers, editors of large, medium, small newspapers besides magazines, NAI’s main focus is to promote independent and quality journalism. It works in close coordination with policy officials to safeguard small and medium newspapers that cater to the locals’ tastes as they are in sync with their likes and dislikes and cater to the rural and small towns. Usually, these small and medium newspapers are run by those with lesser income and face different challenges daily. Sandeep Marwah believes that they are given adequate protection and promotion.
