India–Russia MoU Strengthens Cooperation in Film, Television, Art, Culture and Media During 18th BRICS Summit. New Delhi: In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening India–Russia cultural and creative relations, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the 18th BRICS Summit hosted by India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on greater cooperation in the fields of film, television, art, culture and media.

The MoU represents an important step towards expanding people-to-people relations and creating new platforms for filmmakers, artists, media professionals, cultural organisations and creative institutions from India and Russia to work together. The agreement is expected to encourage joint initiatives, professional exchanges, cultural programmes, film and television collaborations, festivals, educational interactions and greater institutional cooperation between the two countries.

The occasion was graced by a distinguished Russian delegation including Ms. Svetlana Vitalievna Chupsheva, CEO, Moscow Arbat; Ms. Anastasila Dubrovskia, Deputy Director, International Cooperation Division, Moscow Arbat; Ms. Elena Gaiazova, Deputy Chief of Staff, Agency for Strategic Initiatives, Moscow; Ms. Natala Linovitruaya, Head of International Department, Moscow; and Ms. Ekaterina Cherkes Zade, Moscow.

The presence of senior representatives from Russia highlighted the growing importance of the creative industries as an effective instrument of international cooperation. The initiative reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between India and Russia and underlined the immense potential of cinema, television, media, art and culture to build stronger bridges between the people of both nations.

The MoU is expected to open a new chapter of India–Russia creative partnership, providing opportunities for exchange of ideas, talent, knowledge and cultural experiences while further strengthening bilateral relations through the universal language of art and media.
