Noida: An impressive presentation of Uzbek cuisine by students of the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism added a vibrant cultural dimension to the World Tourism Day celebrations at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida. The showcase highlighted Uzbekistan’s culinary heritage while providing students with an opportunity to explore international gastronomy.

The culinary presentation was inaugurated by Abdul Aziz from the Embassy of Uzbekistan, bringing an international flavour to the programme organised by ICMEI in association with the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism, supported by AHPWI and the AAFT International Skill Development Council.

The students presented Uzbek cuisine as a means of connecting visitors with the country’s culture and traditions. The showcase combined culinary learning with hospitality, demonstrating the importance of food in shaping memorable travel experiences.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Aziz highlighted cuisine’s role in introducing people to Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage. He welcomed the students’ interest in Uzbek gastronomic traditions and emphasised the value of such exchanges in strengthening friendship and understanding between India and Uzbekistan.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of AAFT and ICMEI, emphasised that food is an important expression of cultural identity and an integral part of tourism. He noted that exploring international cuisines helps hospitality students broaden their knowledge, appreciate different traditions and prepare to serve guests from diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Marwah also highlighted the importance of practical exposure in hospitality education, encouraging students to combine culinary skills with thoughtful presentation, professional service and cultural awareness.

The Uzbek culinary showcase reinforced the spirit of World Tourism Day by celebrating the connections between food, travel and cultural exchange, in keeping with ICMEI’s guiding philosophy of “Love, Peace and Unity Through Art and Culture.”
