Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum Launched at Marwah Studios

Noida: “It is an auspicious day and we have decided to launch Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum officially here at the head quarters of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry to develop and promote relation between the people of two countries,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI while releasing the poster.

Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum Launched by H.E. Alberto A Guani Ambassador of Uruguay to India in a humble ceremony at Marwah Studios. “ I am pleased to be the part of this event where we all have to play a very serious role to promote art and culture. We will work together to make this forum popular day by day,” said Ambassador.

H.E. Alberto A Guani Ambassador of Uruguay to India took the round of Marwah Studios and saw the facilities available for further programs. He also met the students of Asian Academy of Film and Television and exchanged their ideas.

India is represented in Uruguay through its embassy inBuenos Aires in Argentina ; it also has a consulate general in Montevideo. Uruguay has an embassy in New Delhi  and a consulate in Mimbai. Diplomatic relations were established in 1948.

As of today, about 100 Indians hold permanent residency in Uruguay. A further 800 Indians reside in the country on long-term visas, most of whom are employed by Tata Consultancy Services  in Montevideo. A small number of Indians from the Gujarati and Sindhi communities work as importers and run retail outlets of Indian textiles and handicrafts in Uruguay.
