Noida, India – January 27, 2024: In a bid to foster awareness and active participation in the electoral process among the youth, Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University, spearheaded the observance of the 14th National Voters’ Day (NVD) at AAFT premises on January 25th.

Since its inception in 2011, National Voters’ Day has been celebrated annually on January 25th to commemorate the foundation day of the Election Commission of India, established on January 25, 1950. The primary objective of NVD is to instill electoral awareness among citizens and encourage their engagement in the democratic process. Additionally, it serves as a platform for facilitating the enrollment of new voters, particularly the youth.

This year’s NVD celebrations at AAFT revolved around the theme ‘Accessible Elections,’ reflecting the Election Commission of India’s commitment to enhancing inclusivity and accessibility in the electoral process, particularly for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Marwah emphasized the importance of voter awareness and participation in shaping the democratic fabric of the nation. “It is crucial to empower the youth with knowledge about their voting rights and responsibilities. National Voters’ Day serves as a reminder of the pivotal role each citizen plays in shaping the future of our country through the democratic process,” remarked Marwah.

The observance of National Voters’ Day at AAFT reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to nurturing socially responsible citizens who actively engage in the democratic process and contribute to the progress of the nation. The event was supported by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry.
